Finding a tenant covers preparing a rental property for letting, marketing it, screening potential occupants, checking rights to rent, and drafting or reviewing the tenancy agreement and any tenancy deposit arrangements. A solicitor helps ensure the prospective tenancy complies with housing and consumer rules, negotiates terms, and handles references, right-to-rent checks, and notices. They may also advise on regulatory duties for landlords and how to respond if a tenancy environmental or safety standard is breached.
