Occupation Rent covers disputes over paying rent for someone who occupies a property without a formal tenancy, or under a licence or similar arrangement, and the steps to recover possession or set the rent level. A solicitor in this area handles drafting and negotiating licences, notices to quit or rent reviews, and representing the client in possession or rent recovery proceedings in the county court. They may also advise on the documentation needed to prove occupation and the options for resolving arrears or occupancy disputes.
The matter hinges on whether occupation is properly licensed or tenancy-like and on any deadlines for responding to notices or court actions. A solicitor provides guidance on the consequences of non-payment, the steps to enforce possession, and the specific evidence required to support a claim for occupation rent or eviction.

From the outset, communications were efficient, everything explained and the process was followed up with diligence and efficiency. We liked the mix of comms styles both through email and by phone.
