Top 10 of 951 law firms for International Human Rights, Human rights

Law firms ranked by client reviews

International human rights work covers rights protected by the European Convention on Human Rights as applied in the UK, including challenges to public bodies, discrimination claims, and asylum or immigration-related matters. A solicitor in this area advances claims under the Human Rights Act 1998, drafts applications and statements, negotiates remedies or settlements, and represents clients in courts or tribunals such as the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court. The work often begins with evidence gathering, legal research, and strategic advice on how to press rights claims against authorities or decisions that affect fundamental freedoms.

Where a solicitor protects your position

The crucial decisions involve whether a public authority acted lawfully, or whether a person’s fundamental rights were violated in areas like housing, immigration, detention, or discrimination. Remedies may include declarations, injunctions, or damages, and time limits or procedural steps are decisive in protecting or advancing a client’s position.

Stéphane Gentili

Tagged solicitor Stéphane Gentili

Partner Visa Gentili Stark Solicitors won my case, and helped me stay in the UK when things changed in my life. I first met Stephane at the Islington Law Centre, where he took my case when many others didn't, because of my complicated circumstances. He showed skill by helping me navigate the course to my Leave to Remain. He even attended my First tier tribunal and suggested a great barister who won my case. I had a very complicated case which involved discretionary leave with several possible different pathways, and time frames and deadlines, which I didn't understand or know about how to deal with. Additionally, my circumstances changed a few years later after the tribunal, and I tried him again for help. I wanted a solicitor team who knew the law and were meticulous, making very few mistakes, or none at all, on my behalf. So, I went to Gentili Stark to represent me, and I am glad I did, because they got me good successful results and represented me in a knowledgeable, meticulous way. Stephane and Claudia both worked really hard to leave "no stone unturned" and made sure they gave me all of my choices and walked me through, communicating clearly, with patience and understanding, the different pathways that are available to me, such as my application under the rules and outside of the rules & under ECHR Article 8, the difference between 5 and 10 year roads to Leave to Remain, and they even advised me about when to take my Life in the UK test (I just passed late last year). I strongly recommend them. They have made a tremendous life changing difference for me. And they were very affordable, compared to other good solicitors. They are a small gem of a law firm, and a great find. I think they are every bit as good as the top immigration law firms, if not better.
