Having to sell two properties to buy one, I appointed BHB to carry out all conveyancing as I had used them before with the purchase of my first property. I’ll share the “ highlights”. Paperwork sent to us by our solicitors that was incomplete, and unsigned by the vendor of the property we planned to purchase. Not checked by our solicitor prior to sending to us. After 6 weeks of awaiting answers to the incomplete questions, we made the 150 mile round trip to get the answers we needed, and the vendors signature - work both parties were paying their solicitors for. During the sale of my partners house, he was not kept informed by our solicitors of what was going on. To the point that were were not advised the completion would be a SIM, and we almost didn’t get into our new house on the day, which would have incurred thousands in storage fees and return of the van several days later as the removers were fully booked. Finally, to add insult to injury, BHB decided at some arbitrary point that as the sale of my property had not completed quickly enough, that I owed them over £850 in abortive fees. AVOID! A bunch of rip of merchants

I tried Band Hatton Button for a change, as my usual conveyancing solicitors had been poor the previous time I used them. Band Hatton's service was excellent - Every email I sent was acknowledged, the searches were reviewed in depth and good advice was given, everything was progressed as quickly as it could have been. So many solicitors now expect you to do the leg work and chasing, this was not the case with Band Hatton Button, they did everything. I would thoroughly recommend Band Hatton Button as a company with a particular mention for Rani and Charlotte.

After Band Hatton Button being the family solicitor for decades I can confirm we will never use this company again. We were treated so badly and our solicitor just was not interested in our case at all. Communication was slack and rather than read emails we were constantly sending the same information. On one occasion we went down twice in one day to sign things and two months later still being asked to sign weekly. There was no organisation at all. Our offer had to be extended due to the incompetency. The stress and upset we received was not necessary. Thankfully the quality manager stepped in and pushed this for us. For that we say thank you.
