I am a Solicitor in the Residential Real Estate team and I joined the firm in November 2021. I am based in our Colchester office and am available for a free 15-minute chat over the phone. I love what I do! I have always been attracted to property law and I have been told that my love of my job comes across when I am working with clients. I believe that the pleasure I take in my work allows me to build a strong client relationships, and I am always more than happy to answer their queries…big or small. I help clients with residential property sales and purchases, transfers of equity, remortgages and first registrations. I love to work directly with clients, particularly when they are first-time buyers. Buying your first home can be stressful so I try to remove the stress and bring back the excitement! Because I trained in general practice, I was able to experience various areas of the law before deciding on conveyancing, and I know I made the right choice - it can be fast-paced but also extremely rewarding. I read law at Queens University Belfast where I gained my LLB. I also achieved a Diploma in Professional Legal Studies at Queens and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Northern Ireland and, later, to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales. My home is split between Essex and Northern Ireland. I enjoy walking in the Mourne Mountains and in Dedham Vale, which in my opinion are both equally beautiful. I love spending time with my family and with my dogs. In fact, I am an avid animal lover - from hens to horses and everything in between!

    Thank you Sarah!

    I was very impressed with Sarah's professionalism and patience with me and the buyers solicitor while this sale to a cash buyer dragged on much longer than it should have due to the buyer and his solicitor. Sarah made sensible suggestions when I asked for ithem, and was willing to be polite but firm with the buyer's solicitor when she needed to. All-round excellent service.

    BEYOND EXCELLENT

    In April 2024 I had the daunting task of selling a large Victorian house, which suffered from major structural defects. Sarah Murphey was recommended to me because it was thought that I would appreciate not only her professionalism but also her matter of fact, no- nonsense approach to things. This proved to be so. During a long, and at times, complicated sales process, which included Sarah having to give me advice & guidance on unusual property insurance issues, she constantly kept me informed & advised on all relevant matters. There were two abortive sales before a sale was, finally, concluded in February 2025. During the whole time Sarah went WELL BEYOND what a client might reasonably expect from their solicitor. !! I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone.
