I began my career in dispute resolution with a niche insurance litigation firm in the City, where I specialised in professional negligence. Since then, I have gone on to become a general litigation solicitor and nowadays I help clients with disputes of any nature. I regularly act on behalf of clients in cases involving debt recovery, property litigation, and any dispute involving negligence or contractual issues. As a solicitor in the Dispute Resolution team, I act on behalf of clients in almost all types of civil litigation, both in pre-action cases and those that have reached court proceedings. My main goal is to help clients resolve these matters in a swift and cost-effective manner. Finding yourself in a legal dispute can be incredibly stressful and time-consuming. As a dispute resolution solicitor, I strive to provide advice to my clients in a way which is easy to understand whilst also lifting the burden of dealing with a dispute. Every case is different and I believe it is essential to provide solutions-focused advice at every step of the way. This encompasses every aspect of a litigation case, often with an aim of achieving a successful resolution without the need for court proceedings, such as through mediation. I love that my main role is problem-solving. No two cases are ever the same when working within dispute resolution, which is what drew me to this area of legal practice several years ago. I undertook my first work placement in a law firm over 10 years ago and, from the outset, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in the law. Since the COVID-imposed lockdown, I have taken to improving my DIY skills and have been in the process of renovating my first home. I am also an avid music fan and always looking out for the next concert to attend.

    Using Birkett long was definitely the right decision, both only did they get the right outcome they ensured all matters were dealt with promptly and in a professional manner. Living overseas was a major concern for myself but I felt the whole time everything was dealt with professionally and there was clear communication at all times. Sian and the team ensured that the transfer of the property and negotiations were kept as agreed. Elliott and his team were able to negotiate with a third party an outcome which met my expectations I had previously tried other options with no success. Once funds were obtained from the third party I received these very quickly.
