David qualified in commercial property in 2007 and has extensive experience in dealing with a wide range of commercial property matters and clients. David has particular expertise with acquisitions and disposals, development work, landlord and tenant, property finance, promotion agreements, overage and mines and minerals. Some recent examples of his work include: acting for a developer on an option agreement for the acquisition of a site for the development of 33,275 square metres of B2 and B8 use acted for a landowner on a tri-party promotion agreement for the residential development of 184 acres of land acted for a commercial client on the acquisition of a chalk quarry and subsequent wash plant lease. David has been described as “knowledgeable, professional and innovative” in the Legal 500. David likes to focus on clients’ objectives and drill down into their wider plans to ensure that transactions are structured correctly from the start, avoid pitfalls the client may not have considered, and move the legal process along as quickly as possible. David prides himself on his ability to make complex legal issues understandable and help clients to make informed decisions. David enjoys working on complex matters which have knotty problems that require some lateral thinking to resolve or require bespoke drafting. Outside of work, David likes to spend time with his wife and two children, working in his garden and looking after his reef aquarium.
