I was represented by Fergus Harrington after being charged with murder. I was one of 12 defendants who stood trial. After spending over a year in prison waiting for trial I was thankfully acquitted of murder. It was a harrowing experience, being accused of something so serious which you haven’t done. My life was on the line but thanks to Fergus’ skill and perseverance I was found not guilty. Having been remanded in custody I found out my partner was pregnant with our first child. Knowing I was innocent, but also knowing what I stood to lose was incredibly damaging for my mental health. Fergus supported me through some very dark times. There were many moments I felt like giving up but Fergus was always available on the phone to reassure me and keep my head up. Fergus is a true fighter and didn’t back down at any point through what was a complex case. Fergus experience and decision making shone through as he was able to navigate me through the case, making a number of big calls on how we presented our case. He represented me at the police station right through to the end of my case. His ability to always think several steps ahead and consider each move we made with great care, were key to my success. Looking back I now realise how fortunate I was to have Fergus in my corner and will be forever grateful. The barristers he selected were excellent and were head and shoulders above most of the other barristers involved. I would recommend Fergus as a first class lawyer who can be trusted in the most difficult cases. He is the go to when the chips are down.
