Ron undertook his Training Contract in the Civil Litigation Department of Gamlins, qualifying as a Solicitor in 2003. Ron’s employment practice includes representing both Respondents and Claimants. He has experience in advising large public companies and SME’s and has a particular speciality in company restructuring, redundancy exercises, TUPE issues, unfair/constructive dismissal and discrimination claims. Ron also provides hands-on Corporate HR advice, including drafting Contracts of Employment and Handbooks and advising on disciplinary and capability procedures. Ron also has an extensive Commercial Litigation practice and has represented numerous companies in the High Court, including claims for Breach of Contract, Breach of Covenant and Injunctive proceedings. Ron also advises on financial matters following divorce/separation. Outside of the office Ron is an avid follower of rugby, having been forced to hang-up his boots many years ago. Ron will be President of the Cheshire and North Wales Law Society in 2017 and also holds a number of non-executive Director roles.

    Urgent situation, managed brilliantly

    I got in touch with Gamlins on an urgent employment matter, where I had less than 4 days to decide on the outcomes. I was quickly worked into the diary, and had two meetings with Ron and the team. Ron assessed my position quickly, working through my questions and the information I had provided. In the second meeting we went through the resolution and completion of the agreements in place. Ron, Ellie and the team at Gamlins were helpful, knowledgeable and sympathetic, and I'm grateful for the urgency with which they dealt with my situation.
