Exceptional handling of a complex case that other firms couldn’t take on

Our case was complex enough that several firms refused to take it on due to lack of resources or confidence. Patterson Law and especially Jason Rosser, were the only ones who stepped in. Jason handled everything professionally, proactively, and with exceptional expertise, achieving a result far better than we expected. If your case is complicated or others have turned you away, Jason is the person you want.

Free advice and guidance

After being wrongly accused of failing to disclose information to the police I reached out to Patterson Law for an initial free consultation. Rachel Saunders guidance as to the predicament I was in was extremely helpful in enabling me to challenge the Police and have the charge withdrawn.

Kris Nickels was my Case Progression Officer throughout and always kept me updated in detailed and friendly manner. The preparations for my defence and mitigation were most thorough. Despite a plea bargain, the CPS attempted to prosecute me on a further charge which my Barrister defended extremely well and I was found not guilty. I would highly recommend this professional company to anyone seeking help with road traffic matters.

A client

I paid 1500 for a case in magistrate which they did not do anything for me at all. The work the solicitor done was when she came court she sat for 4hrs writing out my case details when she was ment to come prepared with all that. Then my case got pushed to crown court they trying to say what i paid 1500 for is over i now need to pay them an extra £4000 to represent me again. Wtf. Who has 5 6 grand to pay someone for work or results that are not being achieved. Especially for one days work.

A representative from Patterson Law Limited responded to this review

We are really disappointed with this review. When you first sought our advice, your instructions were very clear, you did not commit the serious offence you were facing . We made you aware at the outset that this was a very serious allegation due to the facts and it could well end up in the Crown Court. We also made it very clear that if it did, then there would be further costs payable. A Crown Court trial, due to the level of work necessary, is more expensive than a trial in the Magistrates Court. The barrister who represented you at the plea hearing tried to persuade the Judge to retain the matter in the Magistrates Court but the Judge felt that it was such a grave allegation that it had to be dealt with by the Crown Court.

It wasn't plain sailing or cheap and I had to go through 2 hearings before the case was eventually dropped and expenses awarded! First Barrister advised I plead guilty :( Luckily the case overran and another date set giving the opportunity to request another barrister. Depending who is sent out to represent you can have a bearing on the outcome eg. knowledge of the law and enthusiasm to fight your case. Conor Mahr at Patterson was always professional, responsive and reassuring and after two different barristers I thank Ann Crighton for wearing down the prosecution. It appears to me the police get results by relying on our passive approach in not seeking a defence. If your license is in jeapordy I would highly recommend you to speak to Patterson Law!

Thank you, your feedback is really appreciated. We take any concerns raised about barristers very seriously and rest assured we will deal accordingly. We are delighted we were able to obtain a successful outcome for you and that you were happy with our service.

I have mixed feelings regarding the outcome of an alleged motoring offence .i was stopped by the police for driving whilst using a mobile phone and ordered to pay £200.00.I denied the charge completely to the police and admitted to eating a piece of chicken instead. The officer filled in the form ticket notice with my comments and informed me to take no legal advise until the ticket summons /charge had been made.I contacted patterson law to take on the case which involved paying an up front charge.Once payment was made it was then difficult to communicate with the company, their seemed to be no return calls back from them. I thought the trial time/notice was out of date, but no such luck. I took a call over the wk end on the Saturday prior to the court hearing on the following Monday from them because the police prosecution were offering two options. One to accept the lessor charge of eating a chicken wing whilst driving the other was to proceed with the original charge. I choose to continue my defense and advised the company of this.At this stage i was then advised to use a barrister adding extra costs to the case which i accepted as my confidence was slowly starting to fade .The barrister arrived at court late leaving me worried/stressed having little time to run over the case with him. However his performance in the court room was second to none and he made a fool out of the prosecution police statement. When asked for the full costs the judge denied the award, which has left a bad taste in the mouth. I am now considering further action.

Than you for the initial free advice it helped me to decide paying £100 will be cheaper than contesting the alleged speeding offence in court. However I feel oppressed by our own traffic police who seem able to falsely accuse me of speeding without fear of retribution because of COST, aided by the underlying knowledge of public belief and trust of the rule of law to protect their action.

Road Traffic Matter

I was referred to Patterson Law by a work colleague. I was facing disqualification when I was caught speeding 46m/h in a 40m zone. One call to Patterson Law and the team assured me of their help. Having agreed to take on their help I was placed with a case handler who spent the following day or two getting to know me and preparing a case that was later used by the barrister to plead my care to the magistrate. Patterson Law have barristers that have over 80% success rate. The hearing lasted less that an hour and I received 3 points but most important, no driving ban.

Astute and caring advice from a professional

I am posting a review after receiving incredibly astute and sound advice when my head was in a tailspin and I didn't know how to handle my situation. The practitioner had no sense that I would engage the practice but she gave me her time and significant care to help which was so appreciated as I was really unsure of where I stood. I felt so much relief after talking to her and she had no expectation of me engaging her. Rare and amazing these days. Thank you Patterson.
