Neil Cockroft
A Bad Conveyancing Experience With Burt Brill & Cardens
Never again! My original solicitor left without warning or explanation (rarely a good sign), replaced by a less-qualified conveyancer. It all went badly downhill: I endured weeks of silence and no progress; a key document had a serious error, risking a tax liability and a fine if hadn’t noticed it; the completion timescale was ridiculously naïve and unrealistic. I lodged two formal complaints, both of which were upheld by the firm. At least that process worked – but they’ve probably had lots of practice. True, I received a significant fee reduction as a result (although no more than I deserved for the needless personal stress, inconvenience and cost). I wasn’t trying to save money – I just wanted a professional service. Many other solicitors offer that, in Brighton and beyond.
