Our UK subsidiary was recently subjected to allegations of fraud. As an immediate consequence, our bank accounts were frozen following a decision made by the police. The bank’s position was that, for compliance reasons, they could not give us access to our funds. However, the bigger problem was that we were unable to understand the nature of the allegations or gain access to the details behind them, and therefore had no real opportunity to respond or find a solution.
