I would advise avoiding this company. They have almost a zero-communication policy. I recently bought my flat with them. During the whole process, it was extremely painful due to literally no replies for weeks from the assigned solicitor.
After being ignored repeatedly for weeks, I raised a formal complaint, and then I started receiving replies. Just to be empathetic to the worker, I wanted to withdraw my complaint because I was thinking from the worker’s perspective, as they might have been overloaded by the company, which is a big enough red flag for you to not assign this company, at least for your property purchase, based on my experience.
I initially wanted to write a review back then but didn’t really want to spend my time on it.
After two months since my purchase ended, I repeatedly received letters from HMRC saying I hadn’t paid the land registration fee and saying that fines may apply. Also, the service management company was requesting documents to start service charges for me. I emailed the assigned person, no reply. Then I got a second letter, and a third and final letter from HMRC. I repeatedly emailed, no reply. Until I cc’d other people in their company, he still didn’t respond.
In his first reply, he apologised and said he had missed the emails and would reply initially. Guess what happened? No reply. After a further three weeks, I raised a formal complaint again and finally heard back from him. By the way, they initially forgot to pay HMRC, which is why I was receiving those letters, and I still don’t know the full details.
During the first complaint, I never received an official response from the company, so I will see how they handle this time.
This is not only hugely disappointing but also extremely stressful when the situation is already stressful. I would advise avoiding this company for your own sake, whether it’s an individual worker problem or the company overloading their workers, either way, it’s not the service you are paying for.
If you are already, sadly, working with them and experiencing similar issues, I would advise raising a formal complaint and following up through all further stages, like the ombudsman, etc. Disappointing!
