I wouldn't recommend this firm at all for their conveyancing. My case was unfortunately assigned to Jessica Blacow, who was clearly not up to the job. She spent six weeks sending emails to the wrong email address for my buyer's solicitor, without ever questioning why she did not get a reply. She held up the entire chain - I had to field so many calls from my estate agent querying the hold up. The company then incredibly charged me extra because of this! It was extremely hard to get hold of anyone at the company most of the time - sometimes I was told solicitors were working from home and there were no direct lines to them, including the director Stephen Ogden. On exchange day, Jessica decided to leave the office at 3.30pm before exchange had happened, which made the day even more stressful. Furthermore, do bear in mind they are based in Lancaster and do not have any presence anywhere else, as they falsely claim on their website.

I have utilised the services of John Hirst, at Laker Legal for a number of reasons. My circumstances were not simple or straightforward. John was diligent, professional, human, and very supportive but also honest and transparent. John dealt well with my difficult needs, as I am a tricky customer. He was accommodating, and resourceful throughout. He handles stressful situations with high level of integrity and professionalism. John was reflective and able to re-adjust his position which due to the nature of the private law proceedings, some flexibility was required. I have already recommended John to friends and family. Going through anything involving the law is stressful and difficult but I felt confident that John would do his very best, and although there was never going to be a best case scenario he worked hard to ensure that my position and wishes were represented accurately and appropriately.
