    Regret choosing Waterstone Legal

    We approached Waterstone because their marketing materials boast of a professional service, with guidance and support for.forst time buyers. The increased cost reassured us that we would be getting a good service. We contracted them for a very simple house purchase with no chain, and Shah assured us it would not take long. However working with Mahmut has been very stressful. For long periods he has ignored all emails and calls from both us and the estate agent. There have been numerous sloppy errors and factual inaccuracies throughout paperwork. On top of this massive delays, which are unexplained or even acknowledged. The sellers are threatening to pull out due to the delays and still Mahmut will not respond. I wish I had chosen another solicitor, and strongly recommend against using Waterstone based on my own experience.

    Really enjoyed working with Nithi

    Really enjoyed working with Nithi, she was patient with me, very helpful and most of all communicated with me. Conveyancing is tricky and stressful, something I learnt during this process as a new buyer, but Nithi was patient with me and answered all my queries - in a very timely manner (even replied to emails during the bank holidays which I really appreciate!). She has a wealth of knowledge and used it to help me throughout my journey. Cannot thank her enough

      I’ve had the experience of dealing with 4 conveyancing firms but this was by far worst I’ve experienced. Do not use them at all costs. Communication is extremely poor. They only work on your case when calling and chasing every week. It took 6 months to complete a chain free purchase due to delays caused by Waterstone. To add to this, they had the cheek to tell me to pay extra 250£ for completing within 10 days of exchange. Disgusting.

      Waterstone Legal has unfortunately lacked the high expectations that it holds itself up to. It is highly disappointing especially towards the process behind my mortgage. There was a lack of transparency and communication, for many days I was left without any response despite my consistent messages, calls and emails. It was rare instances at which she decided to message back, overall this has began to make me question whether Waterstone Legal is putting their client first and answering questions. Secondly, the attitude. Unfortunately, many people alongside myself aren't particularly aware of the processes behind these complicated systems like getting a mortgage and it is why we rely on Waterstone Legal. However, members at Waterstone have not offered that sense of understanding and somewhat rude at times when I was unable to understand what was being told or asked. It took awfully long for the mortgage to be processed and linked with the lack of transparency. Whilst there is no denying that issues may occur along the way, it should seem standard to be informed about the troubles and the duration of how long this may take. Finally, contacting the reception at Waterstone Legal was poor. When connected, they had no information in regards to the situation and hence would call me back after informing the relevant member. However, no call back had ever occurred. As you can see, Waterstone Legal has significantly undermined it's clients and their wellbeing, creating a rather unpleasant experience.

      We had a very difficult process with this firm. There was a lot of confusion in regard to who was taking our case. As first time buyers, the lack of clarity and communication made the process extremely stressful. After our purchase and paying them their fees we started receiving communication from the council chasing a payment the previous owners didn’t do. This is of course not our bill but we’ve been chasing this for over 3 months, calling , sending emails to Waterstones. Incredibly time consuming and they say “they can’t do anything until the sellers respond”. This was their job in the first place and as a company they should be taking responsibility for it.
