Escalated Complaint to Solicitor Regulator - unprofessional

Unprofessional with exorbitant charges - no follow up; significant delays and no breakdown of charges provided. No response from solicitors or responses to complaints, no acknowledgment from senior partners. Unfair dealings causing financial losses. They were supposed to be managing probate and settlement of my mothers estate - it’s been over 6months and they are still holding onto funds from sale despite telling me twice they’re going to make interim settlements - that was more than a month ago after chasing them repeatedly. Now they’ve gone completely silent. The solicitor and partner don’t even answer or return calls; no customer service e at all! They’re disinterested and treat clients unfairly.
I’ve been left with no choice but to escalate to the solicitors regulator now. Hoping SRA sort it out, of course that’s even more delays and financial losses in the meantime.

Exceptional lawyer

Gearalt has proven himself to be an exceptional lawyer, helping me with balanced and considered advice. He has done this, whilst also sharing his passion for his profession, but also demonstrating his understanding of the importance of people and relationships during negotiations. He has vastly over delivered against my expectations, and I would, without question or hesitation, recommend him to act on both a personal and corporate basis.

Would not hesitate to recommend

It was a pleasure working with Rizwana and I would not hesitate to recommend her for her understanding of the immigration process; the clear advice on the process; and, most importantly, the human touch she brings to it.

A strong and collaborative working relationship

We have developed a strong and collaborative working relationship with the Gateley team and value the contribution that they make to UKCA. They have not only worked with us as our legal advisers but also joined our Board on a pro bono basis as our independent chairperson (Nick Murrills, sports lawyer) supporting our strategic direction. They understand sport; share our values of teamwork, honesty, respect and determination; and are genuinely interested in building a long term partnership.

About this branch

Description

Our London office is located in the busy Paternoster Square next door to St Paul’s cathedral and with views overlooking the cathedral dome. The office was set up in 2007 and has thrived ever since with more than 100 professionals now based there offering a broad range of legal expertise from litigation to restructuring and employment to real estate work. Founded in Victorian Birmingham, Gateley has changed a lot over the intervening years. Our address list has grown and we have welcomed new offices and teams to the Gateley family. Our clients have changed and we have moved with them. We work with clients from start-ups and SMEs through to large corporates and public sector organisations. What has stayed the same has been our focus on helping our clients to thrive and prosper. That commercial, entrepreneurial spirit goes to the heart of our business and shapes our story.
