I had a lot of issues with my home since I moved in to it in 2002 I kept reporting things were getting worse still nothing was done first legal rang me out of the blue asking if I had damp & mould I had a list of things to tell them about,they handled everything jobs started getting done, I’m still waiting for some jobs to be completed the council have been given 90 days if they aren’t finished on time I will definitely get them back on the case

I’m very disappointed with the whole experience when I contacted first legal they told me I would get my money back for the front door and back door I paid for out my own pocket as the doors were not safe and Sandwell council would not change them apparently there’s no funding for this. I have complained about my doors over and over it’s all on record they even came to my house took the door off shaved it down and put it back on as the wood was that old it kept swelling with the weather The state of inside my home and what I had to live in was absolutely heartbreaking plaster falling off the walls dust everywhere some parts were back to brick . I’m a single mom and my late father payed for my home improvements losing my father in the mist of all this to , listen it’s not been easy and I have to contact first legal for information regarding my case they didn’t update me Anyway it’s now Friday 22nd may and I’m still waiting for my compensation witch is £1000 by the way what a joke my doors were £2500 not to mention the other work I’ve had done because Sandwell council wouldn’t fix it (no funding) (no money) this is what I continuesley was told. I was told it would be in my bank by the 19th may 2026 so I had to call back as that is not the case I was then told by my case worker (case worker number 2 or 3 I think ) I should receive it today well surprise surprise there’s no compensation money in my bank Dissatisfied disappointed angry and very upset I shouldn’t have bothered with none of this what a joke doubt I will be paid anything

Been so helpful and efficient, first class 🙌 been waiting 4years for my issues to be resolved with social housing , 11weeks with first legal and they are now recognising repairs need to be done and are starting to book me in , I recommend this company to anyone having problems with your housing repairs with social housing. First saw first legal solicitors on an advert on Facebook. We had ongoing problems with our landlord bromford who were slow at repairs or none responsive. Since we been with first legal solicitors we had Eileen Williams as our solicitor she has been amazing. We stayed in contact through out and was there and fast replying when we needed her from time to time for updates etc. We are so pleased with the service provided would highly recommend them. We had the best result due to her services and we are so happy words couldn't explain. Thank you Eileen and your team.
