Excellent Service from the Probate Team

I chose to use the services of St Helens Law to deal with the estate of my mother. I had met Kirsty at a seminar around estate planning, probate, wills, and Power of Attorney held at the Carers Trust in St Helens and was impressed with her presentation there.
It was unfortunate that I needed to use these services within a few weeks of that but Kirsty was very easy to deal with and easy to speak to and everything was kept simple.
Kirsty was applying for probate within a month of instruction and we got this 2 weeks later. I realise ever case is different but for us the speed at how this was done was over and above our expectations.
Over the next few months while waiting for the house to sell and Kirsty contacting banks, building societies and energy companies etc we were as executors kept fully informed and updated. I spoke sometimes on the phone and was dealt with professionally and courteously. Sometimes emailing for advice or requesting payment from the estate funds to pay for relevant things. Responses were quick and informative and I never had to wait more than a 2/3 days for the money to arrive in my account.
Start to finish it took just over 7 months though it was waiting for the house sale that delayed things and once that was done and funds received it moved quickly to completion.
I was, then, thoroughly satisfied with the services provided by Kirsty and would recommend SHL to anyone wanting similar. In addition the costs for this were very reasonable and not expensive for the work carried out.
Thank you to Kirsty and her Team.

Avoid at all costs you have been warned

This company is a shambles. Have been trying to rectify problems caused by an ex employee there but those trying to rectify are just as bad and evasive

Left me in TEARS

I work in financial advice, in equity release where things can get a little testy sometimes considering the nature of advice, and I've never experienced such a belligerent conversation with another professional. Typical over-dominating senior male adviser who cannot apply any nuance to his listening skills and ultimately ends up infantilising and upsetting the client due to his own incompetence, not theirs. I have never experienced such a ridiculous customer experience. You should be ashamed of your company for not properly auditing the way your advisers speak with customers. Perhaps a few training classes are in order? Happy to get my company to offer them up, as considering the way this man spoke, it makes my company's hiccups look like award-winning advice.

Divorce Mediation

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I used this company for financial mediation following a split with my ex-husband. I had an initial consultation with Howard Nulty who complimented me on my outfit as I arrived which I found a little odd, then halfway through the meeting he asked me what I do on Fridays as he 'wanted to take me somewhere' ... wildly inappropriate behaviour to a client and it made me feel extremely awkward. However I'd already parted with a significant sum of money, and against my better judgement I decided to continue with this company for the mediation session with my ex-husband. Mr Nulty was initially welcoming, but once the mediation session started he was very clearly on the side of my ex-husband (aren't mediators supposed to be impartial?) and used intimidation tactics and patronising comments to pressure me to give up way too much money. Luckily for me, I had been well informed prior to this session and said 'not a chance', and used my signed mediation certificate (which took much longer than it should have to be signed off by Mr Nulty I hasten to add) to apply for a financial court order. The court case concluded this week - Mr Nulty told me amongst other things that I would lose a lot of money if it went to court - how wrong could he be! The court ruled in mine (and my children's) favour and took into account all the things Mr Nulty told me they wouldn't. A mean, intimidating, rude and unprofessional individual that is giving this law practice a terrible reputation.
