This work covers arranging and advising on funding for businesses, including equity investments, bank and alternative lending, government and grant schemes, and other capital-raising routes. A solicitor drafts and negotiates term sheets, facility agreements, security documents, and intercreditor arrangements; helps with due diligence, compliance, and ongoing funding governance; liaises with funders, banks, investors, and, where relevant, government bodies. The practice also guides on the sequencing of rounds, covenant management, and funding-related disputes or restructures. It reflects how funding rounds shape ownership, control, and the ability to scale a business.

“Great service, quick response times and accurate quotes. Beth and Alex helped me with the legal work to sell my small business and it went more smoothly than I ever thought possible, and I was given all information I needed along the way. “As a growing business we were met with a particularly troublesome legal predicament which overwhelmed us at first. Debbie's reassurance and professionalism told us where we stood and advised us on the best methods to move forward. Throughout the process, updates were frequent and thorough. Even times when Debbie was out of the office, the team at Slater Heelis were able to pick up the baton, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted process. Would definitely recommend and will certainly use again in future.”
