Restrictive covenants in employment cap what a former employee may do after leaving a job. They cover restraints on working for competitors, soliciting customers or staff, or disclosing confidential information. A solicitor practices in drafting, reviewing and enforcing these clauses, negotiating enforceable terms, challenging overly broad restrictions, and applying for or resisting interim injunctions if a breach seems likely. The procedure ends with the restraint's enforceability being tested in court and, if needed, a damages or injunction remedy.
