Amicable separations and divorces cover the process of ending a marriage or civil partnership where both parties seek a cooperative outcome. A solicitor helps clients negotiate terms of separation, settlement of finances, and arrangements for children, and may draft and file the necessary court documents to obtain a divorce, dissolution or separation agreement. They liaise with the other party, a mediator, and the court, ensuring the agreement is legally sound and enforceable through consent orders and related filings. The approach is shaped by negotiation, mediation, and, if needed, court approval.
