Succession issues cover how a person’s estate is handled after death, including will interpretation, the appointment of executors, and administering estates where there is no valid will (intestacy). A solicitor helps prepare or dispute wills, apply for probate or letters of administration, identify beneficiaries, gather assets, settle debts, and distribute the estate according to law and any valid wishes.

“Ali has been fantastic. We previously went to another company who prepared our Wills and Powers of Attorney. The documents were incorrect and the service was awful. We were recommended Slater Heelis and in particular Ali. Ali gave us detailed advice and prepared new documents. The communication was great and everything was completed quickly. Thank you, Ali.”

“A thorough and professional service. The solicitor understood exactly what was needed and prepared a clear Deed of Variation that could be acted on by the executors. It took longer than the estimated 10 days, largely due to the unavoidable delays due to the long use of the paper post system.”

    Frequently asked questions

    How are these solicitors ranked?

Rankings are worked out mainly from client reviews: the ratings clients give and how recent the reviews are, with reviews about Succession Issues counting most. We also take into account how much of a firm's work is in Succession Issues.

Twice a week, every Thursday and Sunday, so new reviews are reflected quickly. This list was last updated on 29 October 2026.
