My first impression was being patiently listened to. Being able to contact the staff if i needed advice or explanations, this gave me reassurance and confidence. Some legal terms or paragraphs i could not understand, when i asked about them Staff patiently explained or wrote down notes for me to read. I was quiet slow in filling in the legal document, eventually i would get a letter saying if i needed help or an explanation to contact a staff member

We had an excellent experience. I Had an operation (open heart surgery) up coming in a month and it put our minds into focus re doing our Wills and Power of Attorney. The advice and efficiency with which this was carried out, is to be applauded. Everything was completed before i went into my operation

Having used Thomson Bancks for 30 odd years having had our house deeds with them and done our wills and power of attorney when I phoned them on the 20th May to use them for a house transaction and Codicil to my will I was told they could not take on my case as their files were full . I was so cross telling them after using them for all those years they couldn’t accommodate me . When I looked up about their files were full it said that the firm was full to capacity but existing customers should be given priority. Disgusted

Thompson and Banks are professional solicitors and very friendly to deal with. However, communication could be improved, as my partner and I often had to email for updates and ask them to chase other parties rather than being proactively kept informed. We were part of a chain which unfortunately collapsed just before Christmas. Although new buyers were eventually found, the process took around nine months to reach exchange and completion. Once everyone was ready, things moved very quickly, with exchange taking place on the Thursday and completion following the Friday. We were also given an incorrect imformation throughtout thr process, and received conflicting information from all parties in the chain.
