Outdated charity expertise

We do not recommend Pearce Legal for charity matters. Their knowledge is outdated and ineffective. The charity sector has changed significantly in recent years and Pearce Legal have not kept up with developments. We paid them a large amount of money, we invested considerable time in briefing them and waited a long time for results. They failed to deliver anything of value and after months of waiting, we ended up in exactly the same position we started in. Pearce Legal simply said there’s nothing more we can do and abandoned us. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. This matter involved an application to the Charity Commission, where outcomes are ultimately determined by the Commission itself. Following the initial application, we acted on feedback provided by the Charity Commission and submitted a revised application, at no additional cost, in an effort to move matters forward. Unfortunately, the second application was considered by a different case officer who took a different view from their colleague, resulting in conflicting guidance. We fully recognise how frustrating this situation was, and we share that frustration, as we did everything we reasonably could to progress the application in line with the regulator’s own recommendations. We are committed to providing a high standard of service and would have welcomed the opportunity to address the matter further.

Sale and Purchase Conveyancy

Carol was absolutely outstanding throughout our entire sale and purchase process. From start to finish, her professionalism and attention to detail were second to none. She managed both transactions seamlessly, keeping everything moving smoothly even when challenges arose. Her timekeeping was fantastic — always prompt, responsive, and proactive in keeping us updated at every stage. We never felt out of the loop, which made what can often be a stressful experience feel much more manageable. Carol’s expertise and dedication really shone through, and it was clear we were in very capable hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient conveyancing solicitor. A truly excellent service.

Could not be more grateful!

Tahira and Salma have both been truly exceptional at what they do. They made what turned into a very long and challenging process (due to unforeseen medical circumstances faced on my end) so much more manageable from start to finish. At every stage, they were responsive, clear, supportive, and consistently delivered the highest level of professional service you could hope for when purchasing a property. They really went above and beyond to push things forward and help make an incredibly tight timeline for exchange and completion possible. I personally highly recommend their expertise. Thank you both so much for everything you did, you really are stars! ✨

I regret to say my experience with Pearcelegal was disappointing. In a conveyancing matter, the service felt both incompetent and unprofessional. As others have noted, dealing with Tony Lynch was difficult – he came across as dismissive and lacking in basic client care. My case was passed between multiple staff members, yet there was little communication between them. This left me chasing updates and correcting mistakes, a stark contrast to my purchase conveyancer elsewhere who was courteous, efficient, and professional. Separately, I witnessed behaviour from one solicitor that I found deeply troubling. Her behaviour toward a vulnerable individual, in my opinion, fell short of the basic standards of care and responsibility expected of solicitors, and when it results in a child’s welfare being impacted, it is very concerning. Sadly, advice given to an already vulnerable person pushed them into a distressing debt situation. It's sad when a solicitor is prepared to behave in this manner which in my view, breaches basic standards. For a firm that advertises trust and integrity, my experience was the opposite. I would strongly advise others to steer well clear of this firm.

We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with the service you received in relation to your conveyancing matter. We always aim to provide a professional and efficient service, and we take all client feedback seriously. It is disappointing to read that you felt communication fell below the standard you expected. However, we feel it is important to clarify that, while we acted for you in relation to the conveyancing transaction, we did not act for you in relation to the separate matter involving the vulnerable individual you refer to as you were the opponent in court proceedings in that matter. As you were not our client, you would not have been privy to the full facts, circumstances or advice given, and it would therefore be inappropriate for us to comment publicly on confidential matters concerning another individual who was very happy with the work undertaken for them. If you would like to discuss your conveyancing experience further, we would welcome the opportunity to do so directly.

I recently sold my property, and the entire process was completed within an impressively short timeframe — just about a month — thanks to the exceptional service provided by my solicitor, Tahira. From the beginning, she made me feel like a priority despite how busy she must have been. Her communication was always clear, timely and reassuring. I was quite nervous at times, but her calm and confident manner really helped put me at ease. One standout example of her professionalism was when the buyer’s solicitor proposed abortive costs. My estate agent initially suggested I simply accept them, but Tahira carefully reviewed everything and pushed back to ensure the position aligned with the agreed Heads of Terms. She stood firm, protected my interests and made sure the correct process was followed. She was consistently thorough, diligent and clearly took ownership of the entire transaction. I felt supported throughout, and I’m genuinely grateful for her hard work. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Tahira and the firm to anyone looking for an excellent conveyancing solicitor.

We had an unnecessarily stressful first time buyer experience with Pearce Legal. The conveyancing team were continuously flying by the seat of their pants - they checked nothing and did nothing in advance. For example; 1 - They did not check the documents we had completed and signed until the day of exchange. We had signed one in the wrong place, creating a last minute panic to resolve. 2 - They did not check the deposit amount we sent them 1 week in advance of completion, until the day of completion, when we were on our way to the property. Mark spent a couple of hours insisting that we had sent them £50k less than we had, which created an extreme amount of stress on the day. Once they had checked further, they realised that they had in fact received all the money from us, and there was not a £50k black hole. These were 2 stand out moments of failure. Aside from this, their communication was never proactive, creating lots of admin our side to chase them on matters which we had no knowledge of as FTBs. I've given 2 stars because, to be fair, we did actually get there and complete the sale eventually. I just wish we'd have done it with someone else.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience with us did not meet the standard we aim to provide. Buying your first home should feel exciting and supported, and it’s clear we fell short of that for you. We take your comments extremely seriously. The issues you’ve described — including delays in checking documentation, misunderstandings regarding funds, and a lack of proactive communication — are not reflective of the service we strive to deliver. While we are glad the purchase ultimately completed, we are sorry that the journey was not smoother for you. If you would be open to it, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss your experience further and regain your confidence. Please feel free to contact us directly at your convenience.
