I am a Trainee Solicitor in the Public Law and Court of Protection departments. I work under the supervision of Director Angela Sandhal and I am based in the City of London office. My main area of practice is mental capacity litigation in the Court of Protection. My cases involve the health, liberty, welfare and finances of those who lack capacity. I have experience of taking instructions from adults and young people with disabilities and physical and mental health difficulties. I also assist colleagues on public law cases concerning statutory appeals and education law. Prior to joining Duncan Lewis, I practised in education law and I have extensive experience of representing parents and young people in the Special Educational Needs and Disability division of the First Tier Tribunal on refusals to assess/issue Education, Health and Care Plans, as well as appeals against the content of Education, Health and Care Plans. I have helped secure high-cost specialist independent schools, special educational provision, and social care provision for children and young people with special educational needs. I also have experience in advising Local Authorities on these issues and I am particularly interested in acting for young individuals in the court of protection where overlapping education issues arise.
