I joined Duncan Lewis in October 2023 as a Solicitor in the Actions Against Public Authorities Department based in the City of London Office. I advise and assist clients on a variety of matters relating to complaints and civil claims against various public authorities, including police forces, the Ministry of Justice, local authorities, NHS Trusts and various other government departments and public bodies. I have represented clients in cases involving claims for breaches of the Human Rights Act, negligence, malicious prosecution, false imprisonment, assault and battery among others. As a member of the Police Action Lawyers Group, I am committed to ensuring that public authorities are held to account when abusing their powers and helping clients who are victimised and vulnerable. I am also a member of INQUEST and act on behalf of bereaved families in inquest proceedings. These types of proceedings are often complicated and daunting for families who are coping with the loss of their loved one therefore I ensure to represent the family's interests throughout the process. I also represent families in Article 2 inquests, which includes deaths in custody, prison or psychiatric hospitals. I assist a wide variety of clients and have experience in dealing with both legally aided and privately funded clients. I am fluent in Mauritian Creole.
