Yasmin Hoque is an SRA-regulated Senior Private Client Solicitor at Elite Law Solicitors. She helps Muslim individuals and families prepare arrangements that comply with the law of England and Wales while reflecting relevant Islamic principles, including Faraid, Mirath, the discretionary bequest, funeral wishes, guardianship, charitable gifts and the appointment of executors and trustees.
Islamic inheritance rules do not apply automatically under the law of England and Wales. Yasmin therefore considers both the formal requirements for a valid will and the practical interaction between English succession law, asset ownership, Inheritance Tax, family provision and a client’s faith-based wishes. Her objective is to produce clear, workable documents and to identify circumstances in which additional tax, trust, family or international advice may be required.

Yasmin regularly shares knowledge on wills, Sharia-compliant estate planning, charitable giving and succession. She delivers professional webinars for MBL on Sharia-compliant will drafting and estate planning and contributes articles and commentary on Islamic inheritance and private wealth matters. In September 2026, an article by Yasmin appeared in The Guardian’s Later Life Supplement on charitable giving.
