Solicitor at Waldrons Solicitors Ltd

Joseph Adam Norton

Solicitor - Director

SRA ID: 465428

Joseph began his legal career at Waldrons Solicitors, starting as a Trainee Solicitor in 2008. He did seats in Personal Injury, Family Law, Criminal Law, and finally in Medical Negligence. He enjoyed the work involved in Medical Negligence, and chose to qualify into that area of law. After gaining experience at Waldrons, Joseph moved to Bevan Brittan, a Top 100 national law firm. He worked in their Birmingham office and was promoted to an Associate, representing Defendant NHS Trusts and defending medical negligence claims. The experience and insight he gained at Bevan Brittan was extremely useful, as it now allows Joseph a more rounded view of a claim. He is able to assess the strength of claims being investigated, as well as have a better perspective of any potential weaknesses too. As well as having insight into Claimants’ concerns, he can appreciate the difficulties that poorly investigated claims can cause to NHS clinicians. Joseph moved back to Waldrons in 2017, to head up the Compensation Department, before being promoted to Associate Director. The team has seen significant growth since, with the amalgamation of a specialist Birmingham-based Personal Injury firm adding to the team’s experience. Joseph has dealt with a wide range of cases, ranging from surgical errors and cases involving delayed diagnosis, to cases involving brain injuries that are worth several million pounds. He has been involved in a number of Group Litigation cases, including litigation against the Breast Surgeon Mr Ian Paterson, and litigation in respect of the use of vaginal mesh. He aims to help resolve clients’ concerns, by carrying out detailed and pragmatic investigations to find out what really happened, and pursuing cases as far as necessary in order to achieve the best possible result.

Right from the start Joseph put me at ease with any queries and questions I needed answers to at each stage of the claim. He was always pleasant, helpful and prompt. Very professional and I would have no hesitation in recommending him.
