Immigration Trainee Solicitor

I am a Trainee Solicitor within the Private Immigration Department of Duncan Lewis Solicitors. I work under the direct supervision of Immigration Law director, Tamana Aziz. I am based in the firm’s London office and currently work with a committed and dedicated team of solicitors, trainees and caseworkers. I advise and assist privately funded clients on a wide range of immigration, asylum and human rights matters, including settlement applications, family reunion and humanitarian protection. I am also experienced in assisting extremely vulnerable clients, including victims of human trafficking, violence, modern slavery and those fleeing conflict and persecution such as unaccompanied asylum-seeking children. I have previously undertaken legal and voluntary work placements at Quality Solicitors, Kingston University and BPP Law Schools’ Pro Bono Departments. At BPP, I helped run a team of volunteers providing legal assistance to members of the public who otherwise would not have been in a position to get the necessary legal advice. The Streetlaw Project at BPP targeted schools, prisons, shelters for homeless people and asylum detention centres where I assisted to provide legal advice on a wide range of issues such as immigration, employment, imprisonment as well as landlord and tenant disputes. I am fluent in English, Farsi/Dari, Pashto, and Urdu and am able to assist clients in these languages.
