Grateful to Hannah and the staff at Martin Tolhurst. Started divorce proceedings as a LIP in Jan 2024, instructed Hannah at start of 2025 as needed legal counsel. Hannah talked me through each stage and never served me away from what I was asking for. Emails have been acknowledged and replied to, calls have been replied to and the constant worry as to outcome was not needed as we were successful in court. High recommend.

From first contact, i received a friendly and professional and also sympathetic service. Everything was explained clearly so i understand the process. Family law is not easy, and emotions can often cloud your judgement, relying on a good solicitior to help you stay on th right course is invaluable! Regular updates and communication was received without it being unnecessary and at all times i was given professional and honest advice. Trust with solicitor's is sometime hard, but i was told what i needed to hear, not what i wanted at times. This is incredibly important as you are paying them, so easy to be led along and just get a big bill. It was a real pleasure dealing with them, they made a difficult situation much easier to deal with and i can not thank them enough for all their help and advice.

Hannah has worked with me over the past three and a half years to secure a fair divorce in very challenging circumstances. She has acted diligently and professionally throughout, always seeking the best solution for me and my children, and never once have I doubted that she has had my best interests at heart. She has been with me every step of the way, always supportive, always empathic, and yet remaining clear-headed and logical, when I could not be. You have helped to release me from a miserable marriage, and to fight for what was rightfully mine; in doing so, you have also given my children opportunities that they would not otherwise have had, not just in terms of material resource, but also because now they get to know their mother for who she really is, and not just the shadow of the person she had become. Perhaps we don’t tell people enough what their work really achieves, but beyond the legalise, the paperwork, the contracts, there are real people in need of representation, and real consequences that extend well beyond the courtroom. I would wholeheartedly recommend Hannah Stanford – she is patient, straight-talking, knowledgeable, efficient, and she genuinely cares about her clients. What more could anyone ask for? I would also add that she thoroughly deserves her promotion to partner at Martin Tolhurst, and not simply on the basis of her gender, in the name of positive discrimination, to “foster gender diversity and promote women in leadership positions” but because she is an extremely good solicitor and an asset to the firm.
