I would highly recommend this solicitor. Our move experience was made all the less stressful due to the dedicated service that we received throughout, both for the sale and purchase of our old and new property. The team at Martin Tolhurst always responded to all our enquiries within 1-2 hours, (on occasion out of normal office hours). Although telephone calls were not answered immediately, our backup E Mails and voice messages were responded to in the time detailed above by either E-Mail or via a direct call. Charlotte, Abbie and the team were friendly, professional and attentive to all our needs throughout the sale and purchase periods. I would use the firm again without question.

Simran Pannu was allocated as the solicitor dealing with my house Sale and Purchase. Simran is efficient and a great communicator. She responded swiftly to all correspondence and had been very clear about the process and expectations which is what you need with a daunting experience such as the sale and purchase of property. She has also been very sympathetic when the first chain collapsed and managed to expertly get everything back on track, understanding the need for avoidance of unnecessary delay. Her legal assistant, Lauren New, was equally efficient and helpful. I would definitely use Martin Tolhurst again in future based on this positive experience.

Great Experience with Surinder on Lease Extension

I was quite stressed about the whole lease extension process at the start, but after my first call with Surinder, she made everything feel much more straightforward. She explained the steps clearly, and even with a difficult solicitor on the landlord’s side, she stayed on top of things and got it over the line. Really appreciated her calm, steady approach and support throughout—would happily recommend.

I cannot recommend Nameeta Gujral (and her legal secretary Jasmine Oshinusi), family law solicitors, highly enough. From the very first consultation, they were attentive, empathetic, and fully committed to understanding my situation. They guided me through what could have been a very stressful process with genuine care and incredible professionalism. Their knowledge of family law is second to none, and they always made sure I understood each step clearly, keeping me informed and reassured throughout. Communication was prompt and transparent.

I’m beyond disappointed with the service received. My property completed back in November yet as of today the Land Registry still hasn’t been updated in my name. The communication has been nothing short of chaotic. I’ve now been told two completely different reasons for the delay. First it was blamed on the Land Registry backlog. Then I was told it was due to missing documentation from the seller’s solicitor.

At no point was I kept properly informed. In fact, had I not chased this myself I wouldn’t even be aware there was an issue. The lack of transparency is staggering. Yet in a previous call I was told they’ve been chasing the matter weekly. Which is it? Because it can’t be both. I question at what point I was going to be made aware, on my last call I was told in fairness we only became aware in may so it hasn’t been a long time. It’s now July and I find this insulting. One assistant to Richard Carter claimed they had no knowledge of any delays. Richard carter is away until Wednesday the 17th so I assume I will be in limbo until
Then?

This constant contradiction and misinformation is deeply unprofessional. I have now started logging all call times and correspondence and I fully expect them to be reviewed. I paid for a professional service, not to be left in the dark for months on end.

The only person who has been honest and upfront throughout has been Melissa and that deserves recognition.

As of right now I am unsure of the issue, perhaps I would be I’ve I wasn’t told 3 separate reasons within 24 hours, so it’s difficult to trust the honesty. Which in my
Opinion shocking, should you require a conveyancer please look for one that you can trust because in this instance it shows you can’t.

This is not over. I will be pursuing this further.
