Conveyancing
Was easy enough to deal with, polite, answered emails within a few days. We don't understand why it took so long when there was no chain involved at all. But this may not be your fault. Towards the end we were not happy with a few things. The first time we learned that we need to pay a 10% deposit at exchange was too late for us to get to our funds for us to make the target date. The stamp duty was incorrectly calculated. It seemed a cut and paste job without actually looking at our case. You were surprised by the mortgage amount actually paid (minus the mortgage product fee). one would think that Santander did write all this in their communication. The seller, or at least her solicitor, surprised us with a demand for the share of the road subscription for the remainder of the year post exchange. While a minor amount, we felt badly represented and felt it wass cheeky of the seller to make this demand post exchange when we had enquired about how this would work well in advance of this.
