Jemma is a Solicitor within our Family/Children Department. She joined FMW Law in Hammersmith as a paralegal in 2012, completed her training and qualified as a Solicitor in 2016. When GT Stewart incorporated FMW Law in 2018, Jemma remained with the firm, continuing to work from the Hammersmith office. Jemma is a specialist Children’s Solicitor, representing parents in all aspects of proceedings concerning children. Jemma has extensive experience in representing parents in public law proceedings, this includes pre-proceeding meetings (PLO meetings) and within care proceedings. Jemma has represented parents in cases brought by the Local Authority when they have had concerns such as neglect, mental health, domestic abuse, drug/alcohol use, allegations of physical and sexual abuse. Jemma has experience with working with parents who have been considered protected parties and parents who may have additional needs, such as those diagnosed with learning difficulties or mental health conditions. Jemma has also provided advice to grandparents and other family members in respect of potential Special Guardianship/ Child Arrangement Orders and represented those parties in care proceedings when necessary. Jemma is also experienced in representing parents in private law children proceedings, including applications for Child Arrangements Orders (formally Contact and Residence Orders), prohibited Steps and Specific Issue Orders as well as non-molestation Orders. Jemma has also represented parents in respect of more specific issues such as obtaining Female Genital Mutilation Protection Orders, forced marriage protection orders and emergency injunctions.
