Roger is currently a Property Lawyer based in our Gravesend office of the firm and has 12 years of experience in property law. He specialises in residential property transactions, lease extensions, shared ownership, re-mortgages and transfers of equity. He took a rather unconventional route to Property Law in that I initially studied Electronics & Communications engineering at the Merchant Navy College Greenhithe and then went on to a successful career in IT Field maintenance. Roger had always been interested in property and so, looking for a new challenge, I decided to study for a career in Property Law. He joined a local high street practice as a Trainee Conveyancer in 2004 and became a fully qualified Licenced Conveyancer in 2006. He has acted for both private and commercial clients dealing with all aspects of residential property transactions ranging from sales and purchases, lease extensions, shared ownership, re-mortgages and transfers of equity. He has also dealt with a varied caseload of commercial matters acting for landlords, tenants, developers and investors. Roger believes that the customer service experience gained whilst in the IT industry has proved an invaluable tool in the conveyancing world, as effective communication is always the key to a smooth conveyancing transaction. Outside of the office he enjoys socialising with friends and family. He also likes to travel and have managed to visit India, New Zealand, Cuba, New York, The Maldives, Dubai and more recently Mexico.

    Sale of house following bereavement

    Sarah from Martin Tolhurst dealt with the Probate application and will complete estate distribution following my father-in-law's passing earlier this year. We have been very happy with Sarah's work and support, so it seemed natural to ask if they could do the conveyancing on the father-in-law's house when the time came. Roger (the conveyancing solicitor) was very helpful, fully supporting the sale through an online auction. That sale has now completed, and we are more than happy with the service provided. We expect estate distribution to happen very soon.

    Martin Tolhurst have been our family solicitors since the 80s I am 35 now and used the firm for my own conveyancing on a couple of properties.     Commercial Sale

    Sometimes you are the one that initiates and are the driving force to accomplish the goals and objectives. Sadly, without your input and attention, chasing and enquiring repeatedly becomes the norm. I am delighted to say that my solicitor was always the one who was on the ball and chasing up responses from the other parties. My sale became very protracted and at one point appeared to have totally collapsed, despite these setbacks there was a steady commitment to bring it to the finish line. Very grateful for the professionalism displayed.
