Thank you very much for the work you put in, it was a real save to complete the process before the Stamp Duty increases! Very swift work, and brilliant communication along the way.
A detail in the transfer document, prepared by the seller's solicitor, caused a problem. That resulted in extra work.
I instructed Dutton Gregory on my first commercial property purchase. Whilst the transaction itself completed successfully, I was disappointed with the level of service and advice I received. During my own review of the completion statement, I identified several significant errors, including the omission of rent deposits for two commercial units, rent paid in advance not being accounted for, and an incorrect Stamp Duty Land Tax calculation. Had I not queried these figures myself, I would have overpaid by over £13,000. Whilst mistakes can happen, I would not have expected errors of this nature or magnitude on a completion statement prepared by a solicitor. I was also concerned that a charge document submitted to Companies House contained my signature and my witness's residential address, which became publicly available. I later discovered that this information could have been redacted before submission. My previous experience with a similar Companies House filing was that such information had been redacted as a matter of course, so I had no reason to believe this document would be treated differently. My concern is not that they failed to follow an instruction—I wasn't aware there was a decision to make. Rather, I would have expected a solicitor, particularly knowing this was my first commercial property transaction, to advise me that the document would be published in full and that redaction was an available option. Following a complaint, the firm maintained that advising on redaction was not part of its standard process unless specifically requested. Whilst I respect that this is their position, I remain disappointed by the outcome and feel that a little more proactive guidance, together with greater attention to detail throughout the transaction, would have avoided these issues entirely. For those reasons, I would be hesitant to use the firm again.

Quoted me £3500-£4000 for a commercial property purchase ended up being over £8000. Should of leanrt from the first time when the same thing happened but thought id give them Another try. Also asked them to send a letter for another matter billed me £500. Might aswell give them a blank cheque! Ridiculously expensive and will never use them again!

Rachael has been absolutely amazing from start to finish. She is extremely kind, friendly, and approachable, and has done incredible work on my extremely complex case! I separated from my partner and was prevented from seeing my kids, and had no idea what to do. I spoke to Rachael and she immediately helped me to make a plan and was able to reunite us as quickly as possible, and rescued them from an unsafe situation. I will forever be so grateful for all of her help and her amazing work on my behalf. She even went out of her way to put extra effort in to making sure my case succeeded without my even needing to ask. I had multiple other legal professionals involved throughout the process comment on how her work was of such a hugh quality! She has a fantastic team around her too - Emily also did incredible work on my behalf, and was also so supportive and kind! She attended every hearing with me and made sure I understood everything that happened and knew what to do next. Both of them were always available to answer my questions promptly, even when I was panicking and gave them no advance notice. I cannot emphasise this enough - I would 100% recommend Rachael and Emily to anybody who needs help with a family law issue! It was one of the best decisions I ever made.

I have worked with the team at Dutton Gregory several times for buying / selling property. I have always found them to be incredibly efficient and easy to work with. More specifically, Nicky Marsh has helped me each time. She is extremely well organised, professional and best of all, her style of communication is clear and easily manageable. In the past I have worked with legal companies that didnt return calls, overcomplicated simple processes and seemed to enjoy drawing things out to my cost.
