We cannot thank Helen enough for handling both the sale of our previous home and the purchase of our new house. From start to finish, Helen was wonderfully friendly, approachable, and exceptional at keeping us informed every step of the way. As we were expecting a baby during the move, her empathy, understanding, and immense patience made what could have been a stressful time so much easier to navigate. Although the conveyancing process ultimately took a long time due to external factors, Helen was remarkably rigorous throughout. She went above and beyond with the house survey, ensuring the sellers completed every necessary job and resolution before we exchanged. Hart Reade are acting on behalf of the seller, and as the buyers we have had months of mystery hold-ups (for months) and horrendous/non-existent communication. When our solicitor contacts them for updates they rarely get a response from Hart Reade. They've cost us thousands in delays, our whole business and lives (of us and the people who work for us) are in limbo and Hart Reade don't seem to care. We thankfully managed to get a tenancy extension on the property where we currently operate, but we never should have had to do that as there was plenty of time to complete the purchase, however Hart Reade have not done their jobs adequately from what we can tell. And to top it off, when we finally got the draft contract they had listed the purchase price 10x higher than it should be!! AVOID, and if the other party is using this solicitor I would suggest you ask them to change solicitor. We were genuinely nearly homeless due to their delays and we've still not even exchanged contracts, so still a chance we will end up farmless (alongside our 1000 animals!!). Seems like they have taken on too much work and unable to offer the service needed. And if you're reading this thinking I am some crazy woman, I'm not. We're a small family farm. We are just utterly desperate to move. I have called them to raise concerns privately, multiple times but it doesn'tseem to get anywhere. We just want Hart Reade to tell our solicitor what the delay is.
