    Will and Powers of Attorney

    Having had experience - appalling and lacking in honesty in the first case, and indifferent in the second - of two solicitors handling the recent probate of a relative's Will, I was initially wary of trusting Heather. However, she was friendly, empathetic and professional from the start, and I was happy to instruct her to update my own Will and subsequently to draw up Powers of Attorney. I have no hesitation in recommending her services and would myself contact her again in case of need in the future.

    We have had nothing but pain and suffering dealing with this law firm. No communication, do not return emails, and missed deadline after missed deadline…. We have been trying to settle the estate of our late grandfather and they have done nothing but draw things out longer than a year. We have had additional grief and concern added to our family. Having multiple legal members within our family, we know this process well and there is no other explanation for this year delay other than not caring.

      We used this company for a sale and purchase ... although in fact we had to abort it all quite late in the day. We never actually met the lady but she was lovely on the phone. Very friendly and supportive. You do need to check and double check all the figures in correspondence .

      I asked 3 weeks ago for advice which is supposed to be free of charge. Before getting that advice I was informed that I had to put £400 into Malcolm Fitzgerald's firm account which I did. The day following the payment I decided not to proceed with taking legal action. I was then told that I would hear about the paid in monies very shortly. Then I was told in a couple of days by the receptionist then no one takes my calls. Where does that leave me? It looks like that Firm is very quick to take your money and then to decide to ignore you. I have just heard from Malcolm following this review. It is not £400 that we owe for free advice but over £600!!!

      This client was sent full details of our charges and terms as required by the SRA at the outset. In accordance with our terms she was required to make a payment on account of our costs to be incurred. The client was provided with an itemised bill showing the time spent on her case. This review is entirely misconceived.
