If you are reading this you are probably deciding if you want to choose GG as your solicitor. As a mum of 2 little ones, who moved a family of 5 from England to Scotland (12 week end-to-end) one of the best choices I made was using GG. Due to the legal systems two firms were involved in our home move. The sale in England was far more complex due to a long chain and managing multiple factors. Gilson Gray really stepped up, not only in managing our Scottish purchase seamlessly but in keeping (a number) of English firms in check! We ended up with holiday cover over the move which was slightly concerning, however C from the Glasgow office ensured the 24 hours of our actual move was seamless. You'd never have know she picked us up in the final 20% of the move. Her communication was exceptional and - key for me - her approach was empathetic and human. Think more 'you are buying a home, and moving your family' approach... opposed to a 'I'm here to do the legalities' (which is how every other purchase I've ever made felt). Thanks to D for following up, and ensuring we were happy with his team's work. All in all it was a very thorough experience and we felt in safe hands at all times. Thank you team!

I used Gilson Gray when moving house and they took care of the buying and selling of properties.
From the very start, the process was straightforward with clear instruction, transparent with the process and fees and with minimal requests for documentation.
Everything was done online with online one or two physical documents requiring signed and returned. I didn't have to do anything in person at their offices which is great as my partner and I work shifts and would've found it difficult to find a time that suited all parties.
Kirsty and Heather were absolutely brilliant! Both were approachable, friendly and professional. They were straight on any requests / queries and were always happy to help. They explained every step of the process and when I got in touch with my (many) questions, they got back to me very quickly and made sure that I understood everything.
Given that this process is the biggest transaction you'll make in life and a daunting thought, Gilson Gray solicitors made the whole process extremely straightforward, took care of everything and really set us at ease.
I'd highly recommend Gilson Gray and thank you so much to Kirsty and Heather!

We used Gilson Gray (initially it was MHD Law who were taken over by Gilson Gray) to sell our deceased sister's house. Loads of initial paperwork to sign off which could be overpowering for some. The property was eventually marketed and sold reasonably quickly by a professional and courteous team being Karen, Jenny, Megan, Lisa, Kirsty and Kelly

I asked Gilson Grey to arrange confirmation or probate on my late husband’s estate. It was handled in such an extraordinarily callous and insensitive way that I withdrew in tears. It was quite a harrowing experience. I later signed the Sue Ryder Grief Kind petition to help make companies more aware of how to treat people who are recently bereaved and feeling very fragile.
