We were recommended Gilson grey from our mortgage broker to help us purchase our first house. We should have read the review before agreeing to go with Gilson grey. From the offset the communication has been shocking and we have had hardly any correspondence when we’ve required it. It takes days for them to email back and when they do the answer is not sufficient in answering our concerns and queries. Furthermore, we then found out for another law firm that our case was left open and unattended whilst our solicitor was on annual leave for a full week, rather than appointing another solicitor straight away. We are still going through the process of organising our house and I doubt we will have any better communication that what we have received already.

It was not easy as I have lived in my flat for 35 years and have chosen not yo renew my passport and therefore the only photo I'd is my bus pass, which is not always accepted.

Not a good experience at all with Gilson Gray. We asked for a quote, and the price looked good so emailed back to accept thinking that was that.
We heard no further communication from them at all which lead to a very stressful time as first time buyers.
We found a property that we wanted to put an offer on the closing date so phoned the office to get it done quick. All advisors were busy, and we were told we would receive a phone back. We waited a while and didn't hear anything, so phoned up again and was told the same thing. Absolutely no sense of urgency or appreciation for the time sensitive offer that needed to be put in place.
In the end we needed to very quickly find another Solicitor to sign up with, and have no regrets NOT using Gilson Gray. We still have never heard anything from them...
