Digby Brown LLP

I would not recommend Digby Brown LLP (Edinburgh), based on my experience. I found the firm lacking in transparency and difficult to deal with throughout my case. I dealt with a staff member called Colin, who asked me to transfer £100 for searches relating to the person I was taking legal action against. I transferred the money, but I was never given a clear explanation of what searches were carried out or what the £100 was actually used for. I also had concerns about how important information was handled. On one occasion, I needed to respond to a third party within a set time, but the relevant information was not passed to me until very late, leaving me almost no time to respond properly. Another issue arose when a journalist contacted me about my case, which had attracted some attention in Scotland at the time. Instead of focusing on progressing my case, I felt there was an attempt to take control of that contact with the journalist. My impression was that the interest was more about using the situation as an opportunity for publicity and attracting potential clients than about acting in my best interests. When I ended the working relationship, I did not receive my case notes, which added to my concerns about how the matter had been handled overall. Based on my experience, I found the firm underhand and unhelpful, and I would strongly advise others to think carefully before engaging them.

Totally appreciate the extra effort Innes went to in retrieving me allowable reports on my mother's death. With also having legal knowledge of whom I may ask next, for more information! That titled next of kin are meant to communicate to siblings..... The information I received means more than the financial compensation in my mind! Crossing the t's and dotting the i's. All the little things covered. As my mum did. Thank you for helping me fully finish this sad chapter before I move on to the next.

My experience with Digby Brown has been very mixed, therefore it is not easy to review. Perhaps my expectations were initially unrealistic, influenced by their high profile advertising, and I eventually had to accept that their service will not be person centred, since ultimately they are focused on whether cases will generate income for them. Following a brain injury, they referred me to an independent health provider, who eventually provided positive support for me, which was very beneficial. However, if I'm honest, my experience of the litigation process definitely added to my trauma, and the lengthy delays affected my ability to recover. I would have valued some empathy and validation from Digby Brown during this time, but I found their approach very functional and impersonal. They did ultimately achieve a positive outcome but I am well aware that, if my claim had been contested, they would not have continued to act on my behalf. I was never able to understand their reluctance to undertake further investigation to provide stronger evidence for my claim and I am thankful that the insurers for the 'other side' agreed to compensate me for my injury. Altogether the process was protracted and stressful.

The whole process from start to finish with DIgby Brown was dealt with professionally and with care. I was referred to them by British Cycling after I was knocked off my bike by a driver. DIgby Brown dealt with everything, from the referral to have my bike valued, doctors and assessments and liaising with the third party insurer to make sure I recieved adequate compensation for my accident. I would reccommend them to anyone I know who was in the same circumstance as I was.

Absolutely 10/10 service, Katherine Lafreniere was so efficient and got updates whenever needed, easy to get hold of and got more in the claim payout that we expected to get due to Katherine’s due diligence, highly recommend 10/10 - happened in August 2025 and resolved within 6-7 months

Hi , i would highly recommend Digby and brown for anyone considering making a claim. I myself had a fall in my work place , I was just going to leave things as I didn't want to cause any problems at work . But the work had no consideration for me at all , so I took the plunge and contacted Digby and brown best decision I made . They dealt with everything and kept me up to date through email, special thanks to Christie as she mainly deal with me 💯 happy with the company

They are supposed to be a no win no fee company but just hours after they finalised my details they told me I'd have to pay £2500 for an independent expert to prove causation. I don't have £2500 and have no idea what I'm going to do next but whatever it is it won't involve Digby Brown.
