After I went to the solicitor, I was really disappointed. He didn’t ask me for permission before having the trainee solicitor stay in the room, which I thought was unprofessional and really lacked basic courtesy. What’s more, he seemed out of his depth—when I brought up the Misrepresentation Act, he told me he hadn’t used it in years, which struck me as odd since it’s a cornerstone of British law. I just felt, at that point, he was really out of his depth.

Purchasing a property and we (both buyer and seller) used Rubin Lewis as first of all told it would speed the process up, took absolutely ages to get information off them, having to constantly chase progress updates and no info was given unless called and chased - solicitor only worked part time was constantly having to wait for them to come in before I could get any updates

Poor comms: I received a call back 7 days after I was promised one. Lack of empathy considering this was probably the biggest financial transaction I would experience in my lifetime. Single point of failure evident as no one would respond when contact was ill. Each time I phoned to chase (as the comms were poor) my assigned contact was never available and I’d always have to call again as I’d never receive a return call unless I called twice or more.

Lucy dealt with the sale of my property, the whole process was seamless and stress free from start to finish, my emails were actioned almost immediately and there was always cover if she was on annual leave. Lucy is due to qualify this year and hopefully she decides to specialise in conveyancing! If so, she most definitely has a client for life - I can also say, that I would be confident to recommend her to others. Conveyancing in my view, can be a tough area to practice in, there are so many moving parts anything can happen, so the fact that Lucy managed to make it stress free is really commendable.
