Through out my whole case, i received very few updates. The only times I received an update, or had my case progressed was when I would call several times and email my case manager.

They took over a case from my previous solicitors who went bust, so understandably they had a huge backlog of work. I was quite anxious because of the situation I was left in by my previous solicitors, so it was difficult not having much communication in the beginning stages. They were however diligent and carried out the work as they said they would so I’m very grateful.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind words of gratitude. We completely understand how anxious and difficult it must have been for you to navigate the collapse of your previous solicitors. Inheriting a large backlog of cases under those circumstances is always a significant challenge, and we are truly sorry that our communication in those initial stages wasn't as frequent as you needed during such an uncertain time. We are very glad, however, that our diligence shone through and that we were able to carry out the work exactly as promised to get your case over the finish line. AdKirk were appointed to handle an outstanding Land Registry issue that our original solicitor failed to complete — something we were unaware of at the time. Communication throughout the process was poor, and as we weren’t their original clients, we often felt like an afterthought. What should have been a simple task ended up taking almost two years, with me repeatedly chasing for updates and being given the same response each time: that it “can take up to two years.” After expressing my frustration to a family member, they resolved the issue within 24 hours. it took AdKirk a further two weeks — if not longer — to confirm file complete. After we did the work! Overall, the experience was slow, poorly communicated, and far more stressful than it needed to be. If I had a choice I wouldn’t have used them.

Our retainer only covered dealing with the registration of your property with the Land registry. Unfortunately, the time scales we are given by the land registry are out of our control and we can only provide clients with the information we are given. My experience with Adkirk Law has been mixed. The solicitors dealing with the sale of my property were professional, responsive, and handled the legal aspects of the transaction well. However, the service was let down by the handling of the sale proceeds. My house sale completed on a Friday, but I did not receive the funds from the sale until the following Monday. This was frustrating, particularly as I had paid fees and administration charges with the expectation that the money would be transferred promptly upon completion. What disappointed me most was the explanation I received afterwards, which suggested that the delay was due to the banking system. However, it later became apparent that the funds had not actually been sent until the Monday, meaning the delay was not caused by the bank as initially indicated. I am also currently using Adkirk Law for the purchase of my new home and hope that process proceeds more smoothly. The legal work itself has generally been good, but the delay in releasing my sale proceeds and the communication surrounding it have affected my overall impression of the service. For those reasons, I feel a 3-star rating is fair.

I had a very complicated situation regarding a flying freehold. It took many months to resolve it and a lot of time had to be spent dealing with Land registry. Both Linda and Amie were brilliant,very professional and helpful. I would not hesitate to reccomend this company to deal with any property matters.

It felt like the customer needed to do all the chasing and they were unhelpful with a secondary issue we had, would not use them again.

Unfortunately our retainer only covered dealing with the registration of the property with the Land Registry. As you were advised, In order for us to complete any further legal work the fee for this would not have been covered by the CLC and would incur additional charges payable by you.
