As a first-time buyer, purchasing was a complex maze. Thankfully, Matthew and Kiera made the conveyancing process look effortless. They had to tolerate me making an offer, withdrawing due to a poor survey, making a different offer, withdrawing due to another poor survey and finally completing on a property. This they did without complaint. Always approachable, always willing to answer the most basic of questions. Thoroughly recommended.

I switched to Burys Solicitors for my conveyancing needs midway through my purchasing process due to a poor experience with another firm. Despite the complexities of the purchase with flat as it fell under the building safety act, the staff acted nothing short of thorough, professional and promptly throughout the process. The purchase was navigated through many hurdles with the lending process. Despite these bumps in the road, I was always reassured and confident due to the solicitors at hand. They moved the completion through extremely quickly for me to move into my home as soon as possible. Rest assured, if you choose Burys Solicitors for your conveyancing, you won't be disappointed.

The reviews page is headed “Yes I had a great experience”, but the truth is that the whole process has been a nightmare, though no fault of Burys, who have been prompt and efficient throughout. The attempted sale in 2024 fell through when previous solicitors failed. The attempted sale in 2025 failed when the buyer dropped out after 11 months. We are now in the third year of a ghastly and depressing process.

I came to Burys through my estate agent as the flat I was purchasing had cladding and struggled to find a solicitors. They use numerous systems that all require registration and agreement to privacy policies and some of these apps ask you to give third party access to your bank accounts. I got spam alerts when clicking these links. The app that they direct you to to track progress and communicate with them on simply isn't used. I was under the impression that I was dealing with a solicitor, but a number of different people seemed to be in charge of my case and I wasn't sure who to contact until the end. I got some alarming emails from different staff and struggled to get clarity. I asked twice if the person that I was dealing with was the solicitor assigned to my case and they didn't clarify that they weren't actually a solicitor. Following the completion of the purchase, time was passing and I hadn't had any bills for service charges. I contacted the management agent and they hadn't been made aware of completion. I then received an immediate demand for payment in an alarmist email demanding a further payment of £550. When I asked why I was told these were "standard charges", however even though they were standard, they were completely missed until I raised the matter with my management company. I have also just received another email about correcting charges and received a £17 refund. I am not sure if the matter will ever be closed as I have no confidence in their abilities. If you would like your case dealt with by an actual solicitor - avoid. My case was simply dreadfully managed and the complaint response truly woeful.

I approached Bury Solicitors to seek assistance in evicting a tenant from my home. Heather was absolutely incredible, explained the process to me and was communicative when i didn't understand the legal system, provided updates from the court and next steps.
