I wanted to put 4.5 stars, but there is no option so I put 5 as this felt more appropriate than 4 stars. I instructed Nicholsons to help me with a house purchase. I am pleased to say I am making this review from my new house :) I was a first time buyer. Communication was generally very good. I would note that I raised a more urgent query at 8pm at one point. To my surprise I received a response in less than an hour advising that they would pick it up in the morning. My only real gripe was some additional anti-money laundering checks happened fairly late on in the process which I feel delayed the purchase by maybe a week or two. There was also a little confusion as to exactly what was requested for said checks. I have no objection to the checks themselves, just feel that they could have been completed earlier on in the process. There were a couple of minor paperwork issues but these were quickly and easily rectified. Any paperwork they required me to send back by post they provided me with return envelopes which was a nice touch. Overall a very good experience, and would recommend using their services for purchasing a house.

We have employed Nicholsons' services for a number of different legal matters over the past decade and have always found them to be highly professional, knowledgeable and responsive to our needs. Most recently, Nicholsons handled the sale of our house as we were moving abroad. We needed to move quickly to exchange and completion in order to secure our new home, and Nicholsons facilitated this very effectively. We have no hesitation in recommending Nicholsons for all legal matters as they provide a consistently excellent service.

No proper Quotation. No proper Invoice. Spoke over me on the telephone condescendingly (a trait of someone who doesn't know what they are doing). The firm (maybe Miss Tinney?) is sly in that they told me one of their "locums" would be doing my conveyancing whereas, in fact, it was a conveyancer from Swansea working for a firm called Setfords whose name was used in vain on a letter-head from Nicholsons signed per pro which obviously gave a definite impression that he was part of the "team". On closer inspection of their "quote" it would also seem that this locum's fee was more that the Senior Partners (I suppose because they have to get their "cut"). Money-grabbers and totally untrustworthy which a solicitor, of course, cannot be.
