Arrest work in England covers when police detain someone, what rights are explained, and how a solicitor protects a person’s interests from the outset. A solicitor advises at police custody, reviews the case for admissible evidence, and helps arrange bail or advocate for early release. They may also liaise with the Crown Prosecution Service and prepare for any required court appearances following the detention.

“Michelle Breindel defended me when I was in big trouble. Michelle was efficient , knowledgable and courteous. I was facing a adjournment to crown court and even an immediate prison sentence. But I only received a suspended sentence and the matter was dealt with that day. I would recommend Michelle to anybody who finds theirselves in trouble with the criminal justice system . Thanks Jason Roberts ”

    Frequently asked questions

    How are these solicitors ranked?

Rankings are worked out mainly from client reviews: the ratings clients give and how recent the reviews are, with reviews about Arrest counting most. We also take into account how much of a firm's work is in Arrest.

How often are the rankings updated?

Twice a week, every Thursday and Sunday, so new reviews are reflected quickly. This list was last updated on 29 October 2026.

Is it free to compare solicitors?

Yes. Comparing firms, reading reviews and sending your case summary to the firms you choose is free.

    Who will see my details?

Only the law firms you choose to send your case summary to. Nothing is shared until you press send, and your details are never shown on this page.
