A Not Guilty Plea covers situations where a person accused of a crime does not admit the charges and asks the court to decide their guilt after evidence is reviewed. A solicitor in England and Wales explains the case, advises on the plea, coordinates disclosure, and represents the client at hearings and trials. They prepare a defence strategy, review police evidence, question witnesses, and ensure the defendant’s rights are protected in magistrates’ or crown court proceedings. The aim is to secure an acquittal or the best possible outcome at trial.
The decision at trial can determine a person’s freedom, future criminal record, and immigration or employment prospects. A solicitor protects the client by scrutinising prosecution disclosures, applying legal standards for admissibility, and conducting robust cross-examination. They also manage deadlines, file relevant notices, and present a clear case for innocence or reasonable doubt within the court’s procedures.

I was lucky enough to have been assigned Amanda as my duty solicitor after being arrested in December, accused of an offense that could have put me in prison for 6 months. Before my police interview she calmed my nerves and talked me through exactly what they would ask and how to tackle their questions - instantly I knew she was on my side. In the interview she wasn't afraid to correct the interviewing officer, ensuring the record was kept straight. I was charged with the offence and given a court date. I rang Amanda straight away to tell her and the first thing she said was 'we are going to fight this' - and that she did. In meetings after being charged, she informed me of all the possible outcomes whilst staying incredibly positive that the case wouldn't stand up in court. I plead not guilty and elected the Crown Court as advised, at which point I was appointed Barrister Oliver Saddington to represent me, who also assured me the case would not go anywhere - he continued the fight and eventually got the CPS to admit they could not persue the case against me, and I was found not guilty. A massive thank you to Amanda and Katelyn for their support, expert advice, and all the hard work they put in to my case whilst keeping me aware of exactly what was happening at all times, responding quickly at any time of day - a massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders and while I hope I won't have to use their services again, I know exactly who I'm going to if anything does happen to me or anyone I know. Thank you again, Joe

Hello all I had two experience with John and his team expertise in 2015 and just yesterday on 20/01/2025. The first one involved a car crash while my 5 year old son was also in the car. Story short, I was accused and charged with child neglect during driving by my ex and received a letter from Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) that they are investigating me and if convicted despite only a driving mistake but my name will be recorded in the same list among child offenders. This meant losing my job with a 6 figures salary and to remain in this list and jobless for 10 years. On top of that no contact with my son for 10 years. John and his Barister helped me to be acquitted and to save my son contact, job, salary and honour. Yesterday, he again helped me to keep my licence after a 99% risk of losing my licence due to 12 points in my licence for speeding while I should drive minimum 40k miles per year for my job. I wholeheartedly and strongly recommend John’s service to all fathers in the same situations as mine. John I cannot thank you enough! 🙏🙏🙏 🌹

I hired Wasqas from WA Legal to work on my criminal case and I cannot recommend him enough. From our very first consultation, Wasqas was transparent, highly responsive and took the time to explain every step of a complex legal process in plain English. What stood out was his dedication and calm demeanour during a very stressful time for me. He was quick to answer my questions and kept me fully informed of any updates. If you need a skilled and trustworthy lawyer, who genuinely cares about their clients, then look no further. I would highly recommend this firm.
