Top 10 of 2,123 law firms for Not Guilty Plea, Crime/ Criminal Defence

Law firms ranked by client reviews

A Not Guilty Plea covers situations where a person accused of a crime does not admit the charges and asks the court to decide their guilt after evidence is reviewed. A solicitor in England and Wales explains the case, advises on the plea, coordinates disclosure, and represents the client at hearings and trials. They prepare a defence strategy, review police evidence, question witnesses, and ensure the defendant’s rights are protected in magistrates’ or crown court proceedings. The aim is to secure an acquittal or the best possible outcome at trial.

Where a solicitor protects your position

The decision at trial can determine a person’s freedom, future criminal record, and immigration or employment prospects. A solicitor protects the client by scrutinising prosecution disclosures, applying legal standards for admissibility, and conducting robust cross-examination. They also manage deadlines, file relevant notices, and present a clear case for innocence or reasonable doubt within the court’s procedures.

Beth Vaughan

Tagged solicitor Beth Vaughan

I cannot recommend Beth Vaughan at Albin & co highly enough. From the moment I first contacted their office, they demonstrated nothing but professionalism, expertise, and a genuine commitment to justice. I was facing a serious criminal charge that could have changed the course of my life – but thanks to Beth and her team's incredible legal acumen, the case was successfully dismissed. Throughout the entire process, they were clear, reassuring, and always one step ahead. They took the time to explain every detail, answered all my questions with patience, and made sure I felt supported and informed at every stage. Their ability to build a strong defence, challenge the prosecution's case, and present the facts with precision and confidence was truly outstanding. What impressed me most was their unwavering dedication – they went above and beyond to fight for the best possible outcome, and I genuinely believe I couldn’t have been in better hands. Thanks to Beth I now have my freedom, peace of mind, and a second chance. If you're in need of someone who will fight for you with skill, integrity, and determination, look no further.

Had 2 court appearances where I was represented by Mr Scully, while the court appearances themselves were short and simple, outside of the courtroom Mr Scully was extremely helpful in explaining all the necessary details in a way that I could easily understand, the previous solicitor for this case, Mr Walker, often explained things that would leave me almost just as clueless as before (though this isn’t to say Mr Walker isn’t a great solicitor, as he represented me at the police station and was extremely helpful in that situation) I would like to thank Mr Scully for helping me with this situation in court and explaining things perfectly for me, as well as being very kind and respectful.

Bhumika Parmar (Director & Solicitor) Mrs Harpreet Sanghera (Solicitor) Lucy Payne (Jnr Paralegal) BP Legal is a well-experienced legal team. My case was administered within three weeks of attending the court with a positive outcome. All three named were very client-focused and were courteous. They explained my case well before the court appointment, at the hearing and after the client support. They have competitive costs and are a very reliable legal firm. Thank you so much. Gareth Needs and his team were very helpful and clear in all the advise given. They were as much concerned about my personal welfare as much as the criminal case I was accused of. Hopefully I wont need his help again but would recommend him to anyone else who found themselves in the same situation I was in.

Yes/no satisfied of the outcome because I know I was pushed to plea guilty because the barrister said the jury will find me guilty even if I didn't do anything. My solicitor at WhiteRoseBlackmans told me to plea not guilty because no evidence on one matter but never did anything wrong to the other matter either. Just silly things I said. I am going to wait until I get out to see if I can overthrow my convictions. Can't believe the jury would find me guilty on no evidence. I should have never been put in here because of what I went through in my childhood in the 80s, been let down like children are today getting blamed for something not their fault.
