Top 10 of 4,157 law firms for Financial Relief in Civil Partnerships, Family Law

Law firms ranked by client reviews

In England, financial relief after the dissolution of a civil partnership covers orders for property adjustment, lump sums, maintenance, pension sharing, and other financial arrangements between former partners. A solicitor helps you prepare and negotiate a legally binding arrangement, either by consent or through a court application, and may draft a consent order for approval by the court. Proceedings are typically issued in the family court, with decisions guided by the Civil Partnership Act 2004 and related rules on financial remedy, property, and pensions.

What a solicitor handles in these matters

The solicitor will identify the financial assets and liabilities, advise on eligible orders (such as lump sums, periodical payment orders, property adjustment, and pension sharing), gather financial disclosure, negotiate terms, and draft a consent order or represent you in court for a financial remedy application. They handle matters such as valuations, negotiate settlements with the other party or their solicitor, and manage the procedural steps in the county or High Court as appropriate.

Emilia HinchliffeRyan Revell

Tagged solicitors Emilia Hinchliffe and Ryan Revell

In April, we found ourselves involved in family proceedings following a minor argument between my partner and my daughter’s father, after which my daughter was retained and a number of serious allegations were made against both myself and my partner of eight years. Having looked at the many family solicitors available in the Hull area, we chose Kingston Family Law after reading reviews from other families who had found themselves in similar situations. We believe we made an excellent choice. We were allocated Ryan Revell to deal with our case, and he was fantastic throughout. He clearly explained the court process, what was required from us and the strategy for our case in a way that was easy to understand without being bogged down in legal jargon. Throughout the proceedings, Ryan kept our expectations realistic and, importantly, kept our focus on my daughter and what was best for her. He was organised, well prepared and productive throughout. Our case took around six months to conclude, and ultimately we achieved the result we wanted. Ryan did an excellent job communicating with professionals from ERYC, Cafcass and my daughter’s school, ensuring they had the information they needed to complete their reports and assessments. Anyone requiring the services of a solicitor should be prepared for a significant bill. However, I believe Ryan did his utmost to keep our costs as low as reasonably possible. He listened and communicated effectively, which reduced the need for us to repeatedly ask for clarification, and the court documents he produced were generally ready to go without unnecessary reworking. Kingston Family Law may not be the cheapest family solicitors in Hull, nor are they the most expensive, but we believe we received exceptional service for what we paid. While we feel the proceedings themselves were completely unnecessary and should never have happened, we are incredibly thankful for the support we received throughout them. I would highly recommend Ryan Revell and the team at Kingston Family Law to anyone who finds themselves needing support through family proceedings.

Jelena Korobkova

Tagged solicitor Jelena Korobkova

Jelena proved herself to be an exemplary human being. She witnessed me in different ways of emotion and, female to female was most understanding and empathetic (although I'm perfectly sure she treats everyone equally). Very thorough and professional and a very genuine lady. She really felt for me, I could tell. A very relatable lady, no matter who you are/your background etc. etc. I recommend her to anyone and everyone and feel exceedingly lucky to have had her as my Solicitor. Generally on the end of her phone and if not, called back. My review may be considered 'Over The Top' but I am being genuine here. Tell Jelena your truths, fears and worries, be open and honest with her.
