Formal Lease Extensions cover the statutory route for long leaseholders to extend their lease, typically flats, under the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 or related provisions. A solicitor handles drafting and serving notices, negotiating with the freeholder, and pursuing the extension through price agreement or referral to a tribunal if needed. They also advise on the impact on service charges, ground rent, and the new lease terms, and manage the conveyancing steps to register the extended lease.

I have the highest opinion of Ian Cranefield as he was the only one of three solicitors that actually answer my question and did not tell me that I should have done something that could have put my home in a precarious position.
