Short term lettings cover short-duration residential lets, typically furnished, for a matter of days or weeks rather than months. A solicitor in this area drafts and reviews short-let agreements, checks safety duties, negotiates terms with landlords and guests, and handles notices, deposits, and any eviction or dispute proceedings. They also advise on licensing and regulatory compliance, and on how to respond to local council requirements for safe, habitable premises and energy standards.

Where a solicitor protects your position

A regulated professional helps ensure compliance with the Housing Act and related safety obligations, including gas and electrical safety, energy performance, and deposit protection, and handles court applications for possession where needed. This work involves counterparty negotiations, document accuracy, and timely steps to protect a client’s housing position.

Ian Cranefield

Tagged solicitor Ian Cranefield

I have the highest opinion of Ian Cranefield as he was the only one of three solicitors that actually answer my question and did not tell me that I should have done something that could have put my home in a precarious position.
