Paul Nuttall

I am a Solicitor in the Family and Child Care Department. Having qualified in 2008 I have worked in a number of areas of law from Conveyancing to Wills and Probate. I specialised in Family and Child Care law in 2011 and have extensive experience in both public and private law children matters. I supervise a team of solicitors and paralegals. We represent a broad range of people who need legal help at challenging periods of their lives. We undertake care work whereby we represent clients when they are at their most vulnerable and have been told that there are concerns around their care of their child. We do so in a way that is as supportive as possible to try and achieve the best outcomes for children and parents. We also undertake all forms of private law children work, including residence, contact and disputes over issues such as schooling and medical treatment and relocation out of the jurisdiction. I deal sensitively with the often difficult circumstances of such applications as well as offering realistic and practical advice. I have experience of representing those who have numerous contested applications in private family law, including non-molestation orders, occupation orders, child arrangements orders and a transfer of tenancy. It can be challenging as emotions are raw and we aim to help parents in as supportive, understanding and honest way possible. We represent husbands and wives who need assistance in settling financial disputes after separating from their former spouse. This ranges from disputes over the former matrimonial home to larger disputes that involve overseas assets and businesses. These matters can be straightforward or complex and we have the in house expertise to deal with both. I undertake advocacy in all of the above areas to provide consistency to clients and ensure their views are appropriately put before the court. I undertake a pro bono clinic with the Citizens Advice Bureau in Richmond, which has allowed me to provide basic advice and assistance to many people who fall between the gap of being able to fund their legal matter privately and who do not qualify for legal aid.
